Accessing the Deep Levels of Gratitude

Ready for the final installment about using gratitude to live the life you’ve come here to have?

Let’s do a quick review first.

First we covered exploring gratitude as a REACTION. In other words, cultivating gratitude for what you have in your life right now. Are you still doing your list every day?

Second, we dove into the idea of adopting a PHILOSOPHY of gratitude. The invitation being to experience life through the lens of gratitude.

Today we’re going to the deepest level, IDENTITY.

How can we truly embody gratitude?

If we will allow it, gratitude can help us heal.

How?

By assisting in the release of old habits and beliefs, ones that prevent us from being our authentic selves. Gratitude can help us explore the places where we may have resistance to being happy.

Yes, this may sound shocking but it’s also true. We ALL have pockets where we resist joy and hold onto suffering. Perhaps it’s feeling undeserving, hurt or even cynical.

Each of us has an armory of defense mechanisms designed to protect us from being hurt or disappointed. What are some of yours? Can you name a few?

Here’s the thing, we can’t be negative AND grateful.

If we allow it, gratitude can act as a flashlight, and aid us in identifying these blocks or ways we prevent love and happiness from coming in.

What would you like to bring to light?

  • Your fear about never getting well?

  • The anxiety of changing jobs?

  • The prospect of true love eluding you?

Ultimately, as we allow gratitude to help us heal, we find it easier to tune back to thankfulness, love and joy.

As we shift our thoughts away from lack, its hold on us wanes and we become more able to tap into the truth of who we are.

That we are what we seek.

In other words, nothing outside of us will give us what we want.

As that searching falls away, we feel ourselves being filled with abundance, happiness, love and thankfulness.
